Swappie Launches Partnership with Zásilkovna

Swappie, Europe’s leading iPhone refurbisher has entered into a partnership with Zasilkovna in the Czech Republic, becoming one of the partners for phone delivery. Customers purchasing a refurbished phone can now choose between shipping via DHL, standard or express delivery, and newly through Zásilkovna. By the end of 2023, Zásilkovna offered 9,000 partner collection points across the Czech Republic. The delivery time for phones will continue to be 2 to 3 working days.

Swappie primarily focuses on sustainability, minimizing electronic waste, and reducing carbon footprints. By purchasing a refurbished phone instead of a new one, a customer saves a significant amount of precious metals contained in each electronic device, and also approximately 82 kg of CO2, which is emitted into the atmosphere during the production of a new phone. With an eye on ecology, Swappie has opened a collection point in Leipzig, where phones from the Czech Republic are sent. From there, further transport to the factory in Helsinki is highly optimized.

Zásilkovna also strives to produce as little CO2 as possible. Since April 2022, it has been delivering packages using electric bicycles. With an average of about 70 delivered packages per day, it saves approximately 2,600 kilograms of carbon dioxide annually.

Christoph Lau, Manager for Central and Southern Europe at Swappie, adds, “The cooperation with DHL complements DHL’s existing services and allows us to further expand the phone delivery options for our customers. Within the first few days of introducing the delivery option via Parcel, we saw significant interest. Orders are delivered within 2 to 3 working days, either to the point of collection or directly to the customer’s home.”

Swappie also purchases used iPhones, from model 8 and newer. For sending these devices, customers can choose DHL services or use partner site services, so-called drop-off points. Currently, Swappie collaborates with PECOM Solutions in Chomutov and Knihobot in Prague. Shipping of the phones is free.
